Just Steps Away From Everything

Bella Lucia (the bright red star) is centrally located and walking distance to most of the favorite historic destinations in Merida.

2 blocks from the house is the romantic Parque Santa Lucia

Thursdays nights enjoy live music and dining on the park at 8pm. Sunday mornings buy antique trinkets and local handicrafts from native artisans. Be sure to sample some local artisan chocolate at the chocolate shop tucked in the corner of the park. Skirted by restaurants and quaint shops, Parque Santa Lucia is known as the parque of romance!

2 blocks from the beginning of the famous Paseo Montejo

This picturesque avenue with it's European flavor and wide shaded sidewalks is the perfect place for an evening or morning stroll. We often walk to El Colon side walk cafe for their famous homemade sorbets. Hennesey's Irish Pub is a favorite of local foreigners for drinks or excellent food.

3 blocks away is the quaint little neighborhood of Santa Ana

With it's own small market, restaurants, church and assorted art galleries, it is a convenient stop for fruit, tortillias or an authentic Mexican breakfast or lunch.

3 1/2 blocks south of the house is Plaza Grande. Every Sunday morning and afternoon local artisans gather around the park to sells their wares. Several blocks surrounding the park are closed to traffic and open only for pedestrian traffic, making it a pleasant area to stroll in search of treasures.  There is almost always something going on at Plaza Grande or it's surrounding museums and theaters.

6 blocks right down our street is the largest street market in the city. It is an experience in Mexican culture just to walk through it. Bustling with people, buses, and vendors it can be a bit overwhelming at first. But it vibrates with life and Mexican culture as street muscians play their music amidst the calls of vendors and the pungent odors of the market.
